Red, White & Blue Card

The COTM theme for JUNE @ WI Stampers is R, W & B.

I wanted to keep it simple & clean for a change. BELIEVE me this was harder for me than it looks. I wanted to add a collage image of a woman, but restrained myself....

The main stamps are from a set called bags of bunting by Dylusions for Ranger. Stamped in Crimson & Ultramarine Archival ink.

I stamped the 'stripes' using a stamp from the Americana Silhouette set by Tim Holtz.

OOOHHHH, and the "calligraphy", all mine (wink).

I made it myself!

I had this bright idea today.
Ok not brilliant but it executed well.

And I think I'll be making this style again!

Actually, I have, in multiple sizes...

If you look closely, I made a matchbook! The closure are made using 2 circle punches.

The stamp is vintage Tim! Lol!!! One of the first stamps I have by him! I colored it with markers before stamping. 2 sets of Wings & the hat are cut, and layered with black foam squres.
The background paper is from one of the Paper Stashes, inked on the edges with Weathered wood Distress Ink & stamped with a solid butterfly in pumice stone. The tag is a TIM a long with the verse stamped in archival.

This is the first run through below. Inspiration for the final design above. I decided it needed 2 scores at the top to give it more dimension, and 'fold' into the small fold up at the bottom.

The card is made from Tim's Paper Stash. It's inked on the edges with weathered wood distress ink.
The stamped coffee ring & splatters are inked with vintage photo and are part of an older stamp set.

The image is from Altered Pages and is done as an image transfer into PPA. Since I printed from my laser printer the image turned out nice & crisp.

The phrase is cut from the sentiment stamp set called Quotes & Quotables by Artistic Outpost. The stamp is great because while it's designed to be used as 1, it has lines that can be used individually! LOVE that!

ATC TREEE Theme

In our Wi- stampers group the ATC theme for May was trees.

I had a cool idea and made a "Cod-I-fer" ...

I had it done ahead of time & now I can't find the damn thing!!!
lesson learned....

But I did have another brainstorm & bought a thin piece of balsa.

So this is the actual ATC I sent.

The wood was inked with Distress Ink in vintage photo & peeled paint.

The tree is stamped with archival ink. I used some Green Tea Versamark ink to ink up the lower part.
I dusted it with perfect pearls to add some shimmer.

The quote was the inspiration for this piece.

Honor tag

This tag features dies cut from T!M's Alterations die Old Glory & the Rosette strip die. The word FREEDOM, and the background words & stars are from the Americana Silhouettes stamp set.

Them main image & word HERO is from the HEROS set by Artistic OutPost.

I used Distress Inks & Archival Ink to stamp and alter the background of this tag.

Happy Memorial Day!

First, a million thanks to all who have served and those who continue to serve! What amazing people are military are!

In humble appreciation, I'm beginning a banner project, and plan on adding more flags to it as i go along.
The flags are about 5x8", so there is a lot of good surface area.  The background is manilla cardstock, majorly distressed & aged. I used Distress Inks in Old Paper, Vintage Photo & Walnut Stain.
I used T!M's mixed media stamp set & basic backgrounds set by Dylusions.
I stamped with Archival Crimson & walnut stain.
I also did a Brush-less watercolor technique using T!M's Americana silhouettes set in Faded jeans distress ink.

I used 2 of T!M's Alterations Dies: Rosette, Old Glory Bigz

The 'focal' images are from Artistic Outpost's HEROS set.

Origin of Love Tag

Working with a 12x12 stencil from The Crafters Workshop, Archival Ink, Distress Ink in Ripe Persimmon & Mustard Seed, along with Distress Stain in Peeled Paint.
This tag is simply done as to not overpower the background . I love how that turned out. I accented petals of the flower and word borders with a very fine marker.

The hand cut heart features a LOVE stamp from Inkadinkadoo.

Catch up

You all should know how much I LOVE t!m's new telephone & typewriter dies!
Love being able to add a personal message!

The rest of this verse is on the inside .

For the next cards, I used the new Wordplay die. Letters are about 1" or so.

Here I used the "waste" as a stencil for the background .

For this card I stamped the background with a Dylusions set.

Here I again used the Wordplay "waste" as a layering piece.

Love beige? The like is transferred to canvas cloth. The background is Walnut Stain Distress Ink rubbed onto the new Bubbles Texture Fade before running it through the Vagabond.

I did mist the Fade with water to create a softer look.

Added a piece cut from T!M paper using the pennant die.
I find myself using that die a lot.

Stay tuned more to come!!

Banner time

I'm helping my SIL with planning & ideas for her & her partners soirée this fall.

I had this idea for banners. She doesn't visualize like the rest of us, so I had to whip this up for her.

Each flag is 5x8, canvas cloth.
The font is Romanesque from DaFont, resized to 320 & printed onto transfer paper.

I stitched a pocket for the ribbon up top and then a border.

We'll have a banner for CARDS, CAKES (mini bundts), DRINKS...

It's outdoors, at a farmette.
She loved the banners.
I knew she would!

My moms day card for my mom!

I have a "joke" with my dad. He calls me his favorite daughter.
I'm the only daughter (to the best of my knowledge)..
On both my mom & dads phones I'm listed as "favorite daughter " so couldn't resist stamping this in my moms card!

The lovely Flower & Mason Jar are by Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490 line. I LOVE this set! The Essence of ART (LCS080).

The mason jar is stamped onto dur-a-lar (an acetate). The flower is watercolored Distress Ink.

The tag, letters & Kraft glassine are Tim Holtz.
The background stamp is from Stampington & Co., and is done in Seedless Preserves Distress Ink spritzed with water. Overstamped w/a dot stamp in Worn lipstick.

HAPPY MOM'S DAY to all you momma's!! Enjoy your weekend!!

Look a card!

It's no secret I prefer tags. They're the "new card" for me.
But sometimes it needs to be a standard card format. Like the COTM (card of the month) I'm in.
This month is Masculine theme.

Life is good by Artistic Outpost.

The background way in the back is by PINK BY DESIGN called Olive Grove. The next layer is a Tim Holtz stamp, inked w/spring distress inks, spritzed w/water & stamped onto matte krone-cotte.

The fish is a Wendy Vecchi stamped w/Archival. Stippled w/Distress Inks & spritzed w/Perfect Mist in Biscotti.

Art lives tag

I know ANOTHER tag!
CALLING ALL ARTISTS.....
Too much??? I just had to use that phone! I love that the 'dial' because I made it look like a paint palette! Clever? I think so....

Admittedly, there is A LOT going on with this one. And it 'could' have been left alone without the phone. But a girl dosn't always know when to STOP....
So the telephone is one of Tim's new Alterations Die. In another post, I make a card with the phone. Which is HUGE!

Once again, I stamped JUST the cap from the ink bottle into Rangers Metal Foil, while the jar is done one Matte-Krome paper.

The Circles stencil in the background is a Julie Fei-Fan Blazer design for The Crafters Workshop. Done up with, the new SPRING LIMITED EDITION DISTRESS INKS ( IN STOCK at Red Rubber!!!).
The harlequin stamp is a Dylusions, but all the rest are from Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 sets! EXCEPT the little pencils. Those are from the Secretary Pool set by Artistic Outpost. See how everything just works so well together?

Wendy says it all with this little phrase....

Tag for a teacher

Well she's an artiste now! My friend Maggi stopped by to unload my home of her order, and I was inspired to work on this tag for her.

It uses Stamps from both Wendy Vecchi and Dylusions. Washi from Cavallini, and Tim's Ticket stamp & Alterations Strip die.

The background is done using Distress Ink. I also stamped one of the new background stamps from Tim & Stampers Anonymous. I really love that stamp lately!!!

Instead of using the Dylusions stencil, I used the Dylusions Stencil Alphabet stamp!

The pencil sharpener is stamped onto the Ranger Metal foil so it's all shinny & bright! Wendy sure has some awesome stamp sets!
And I carry them at Red Rubber, Paper and Ink!

Man tags

What's up with all the 'moustash' stamps & references lately? Is it the steampunk gentlemen?
This tag is done with Distress Inks & stains, Tim Holtz Stamps, the 'stash' from Wendy Vecchi, and some Making Memories letters (remember those magnetic stamps in the cool tin?).

In the background is one of my new favorite stencils from Dylusions...

Scissors washi tape from Washi Wishes on Etsy.

Pennant die & bookplate are from Tim's Alterations line. The CLOCK is from a Ten Seconds Studio Kabuka mold & Rock Star metal.

Another 'MAN TAG'

Steampunk tissue tape is from Tim's Commute set.
The numbers washi tape from Washi Wishes on Etsy.

Kimbal Brothers is a vintage ad image I printed. Again I used the stencil from Dylusions...
